I drew the egg first, not too bad. Next was the avocado toast. This one took longer, because I had to figure out how to shade in the avocado slices. But I’m pleased with the end result. Now the pancakes? They were ridiculously hard. I had intentions of drawing other berries....but I decided to stick to what was easy...little blue circles. #foodillustration

The woman who paid for my coffee, letting me Venmo her back after I left my wallet at home was definitely a good person. I really needed that cup of coffee and breakfast taco 💛

Very into painting food related things right now. So I made a list of small things I’ve found that make a difference when baking!

✨Let you eggs and butter come to room temperature. I’ve learned some hacks to soften butter in a rush, but it’s so much better without being forced.

✨ If your cake recipe calls for a whole egg, put the yolk in, but whisk (or use a hand mixer) the egg whites together until you have stuff peaks. It will make your cake texture fluffy and light!

✨Flour can be the change maker in the texture and look of your dessert. To make sure you get it right each time, use a kitchen scale to weigh out your amount.

✨If you’re making cookies, let the dough sit in the fridge overnight, giving it time for all the flavors to condense. If you’re making a cake, before assembly layers should be cold.

✨Salt. Always use a bit more than the recipe recommends.

I’m good with the angry part of lament, I read and think heck yeah God, where are you!? For how long!? Answer me!? “I am worn out from sobbing...my vision is blurred by grief!!!!”

Then you keep reading and the lament takes a turn to joy and praise and thankfulness, and I say woah woah woah not yet.
