When you buy something from an Instagram ad and they arrive better than you expected you are required to tell the internet about it…it’s law.

I bought these jeans from @oliver_logan_ spontaneously after scrollling past one of their ads. Every single review was positive. Not to mention they have put the work in to be as sustainable as possible and be intentional about their suppliers. Basically, I’m obsessed.

When someone you know writes a book, it gets a permanent spot on your feed, it’s law.

This Boy We Made by Taylor Harris is a story of medical mysteries, of being a mom, of mental health, fierce love, and persistent advocacy for one’s self and the ones you love.

I think a lot of people could see a piece of themselves in this story. Maybe as a parent, or a doctor, a black woman, or a teacher, or falling in love with so much of UVA in the background.

I thought about the many IEP meetings I’ve sat in as a teacher. Working within a system and trying to get kids what they needed. I thought about faith, and doubt and fear. Of knowing exactly what it’s like to go on with life with a definitive Before & After. Then having to sit in the discomfort of an unknown future.

Taylor, thank you for sharing your story with the world. We are better for it.
